Team Grand three-year-old Calypso Reign appreciated stepping back up to 1200m on Saturday when he trounced his rivals in winning the $100,000 SABOIS 3YO Sprint at Murray Bridge.

The David Jolly trained gelding drifted back from barrier nine and looked in desperate need of luck rounding the home turn before Kayla Crowther took him to the outside where he came with a barnstorming run to win by 2.3 lengths. The race was run at a moderate tempo so his effort to come from well back was outstanding. The performance is a testament of the work the Jolly camp has put in with this horse throughout the campaign.

The win made it two from nine for the son of Barbados with a further three placings. The $17,000 purchase has now earned over $117,000 and looks destined for more.
