Tracy Cox was overcome with emotion the minute she laid eyes on Behemoth.

The strapper was finally reunited with the retired dual Group 1 winner who now resides at Living Legends following his return to South Australia last Saturday to promote the race named in his honour.

Cox immediately made a beeline for Behemoth when she spotted him, choking back tears as she gave him a pat.

“Hey beautiful boy,” Cox said.

“He’s such a brilliant horse. An icon to our stable.

“I formed a pretty special bond with him while he was there. Every time there is a post about him, it’s still emotional.

“It’s so nice to see him happy and running around the paddocks.”

Cox and former trainer David Jolly both noted just how ‘chilled’ Behemoth is now in retirement compared to his racing days.

“He’d be kicking and biting and letting everyone know he is here,” Cox said.

Jolly added: “Rapt to see him. He has mellowed quite a lot.

“They have looked after him well and it looks like he enjoyed his time here (back in SA).”
